Breaking news: In May 2024, we are introducing the highly sought-after, coach-to-one or coach-to-two player offering.

These 60 minute sessions feature custom-designed programs that are adapted to the individual needs and abilities and will be delivered by our qualified, highly trained coaches.

Available for players up to U16 (born 2008).

What is the Skills Academy?

The Lindfield Football Club (LFC) Skills Academy is dedicated to lifting players’ individual technical skills, enabling them to become more creative, well-rounded and effective team players. Each Skills Academy session will have no more than eight players in it, allowing for a lot of personalised coaching. The sessions will feature a customised, consistently applied curriculum, in which players will have many touches of the ball to help increase their technical capability.

Unlike many academies, the Lindfield FC Academy does not enter teams into regularly scheduled competitions. The best available sports science, as provided by Football Australia, indicates there can be too much of a good thing, and LFC does not believe seven days a week of participation in a single organised sport supports the physical and mental well-being of players.

Instead, the LFC Skills Academy suggests one technical individual-focused training session per week during a season, while matches and team training sessions are regularly occurring, is the most a player should do. Two sessions a week during the off-season is viable. Players are encouraged to practice the skills they have been focusing on at the Skills Academy in their own time, including with friends in a fun, social environment. 

To support the provision of the premium product that is its Academy, Lindfield FC has a comprehensive and inclusive coach development program that aims to develop excellent coaches for all our competitive teams.

How do I Sign Up

NOTE: Term 2, 2024 schedule changes are required due to match schedules and feedback preferences from parents.

  • Girls-only sessions will be held on Saturday afternoons

  • Mixed sessions (girls very welcome) on Sunday mornings

The Skills Academy group program cost remains at $22 per session per player.
Players must sign up for a minimum of 6 sessions out of the 8 available.

All sessions whether group or 1-on-1 are 60 minutes.

NO sessions on the long weekend of 8/9 June.

Coach-to-one or coach-to-two coaching sessions are $80 per hour per session.

    Each coach must meet a set of minimum criteria, and will teach a customised Lindfield curriculum.

    Session coaches are overseen by LFC Academy Head Coaches, ensuring a high level, consistent experience for our players.
